Sade conveniently dropped her new album in time for the Valentine’s day weekend and it quickly shot up the Billboard charts to #1 where it has remained for two weeks. Is anyone surprised? Not us. Helen Folasade Adu’s voice is just as sultry and rich as when she debuted as Sade in 1984, and her songs are timeless ballads of love and heartbreak. Buy it. Download it. Listen to it.
The rumours are true! Sultry soul singer Sade has resurfaced and returned to the recording studio to work on a new album with her band.
A release date hasn’t been confirmed, although the fansite sade2009.com reported the date of November 24, but bandmember Stuart Matthewman, a.k.a. Cottonbelly confirmed there is an album in the works that won’t be finished until “later in the year.”
A source at Sony also confirmed, “She is in the studio and the album will come when it is ready,” and said, “You don’t wait for years for one and then rush it.”
Sade’s last album “Lover’s Rock” was released in 2000 and sold 3.9 million copies in the U.S.
