With her one last blowout tour beginning in October, music legend Tina Turner says it was screen legend Sophia Loren who persuaded her out of retirement, according to Elle.
“Sophia Loren asked me what I’d been up to. I said, ‘Taking a rest.'” Turner recalls to the magazine. “She said, ‘Seven years. Rest is over! People want to see you.'”
After announcing retirement in 2000, Turner, then 68, took over the Grammys in silver hot pants with a mind-blowing performance with Beyonce, proving that age is nothing but a number.
Revealing that she keeps her legendary legs in shape by “swimming and hiking. A lot,” Turner adds, “This will be my last worldwide tour–I swear!”
