Actress Thandie Newton appears on the October 2008 cover of Blackbook Magazine, where she admits to wanting to play Angela Davis “when I’m a bit older,” while the famous men she’s worked with dish on the British beauty’s allure.
“Thandie’s very easy to love, and she usually plays the girl everyone does love,” Madonna’s director hubby Guy Ritchie explains.
“I liked the idea that this wasn’t the case here,” Richie says of Newton’s starring role in his new film RocknRolla. “Stella was based on the female half of an actual power couple that went over to the dark side—this lawyer who liked cocaine and boys and his accountant missus who was pretty wild herself.”
“There’s a mystery that Condi Rice and Thandie both have,” her W costar Josh Brolin, who plays George Bush to Newton’s Condoleezza Rice, says. “Their elusiveness scares me. Their smiles frighten me.”
