Etta James Slams Beyonce For Singing Her Song ‘At Last’ And Calls Obama ‘Big Ears’

Legendary soul singer Etta James ranted about Beyonce having “no business” singing her song during the inauguration at a recent concert in Seattle. The 71 year-old singer didn’t seem to like our new President either saying:

“You guys know your President right? You know the one with the big ears? Yeah, wait a minute, he ain’t ma President. He might be yours…he ain’t ma President….but I tell ya’ that woman he has singing for him, singing ma song, she gonna get her ass whipped…..the great Beyonce…..but I can’t stand Beyonce, she has no business up there singing, singing up there on a…a big ol’…a big ol’ President day. Gonna be singing ma song that I been singing forever.”

Blindie wonders what Ms. James thought of her portrayal by “the great Beyonce” in Cadillac Records.

VIDEO VIRUS: Aretha Franklin’s Inaugural Performance And Hat Parodied By Comedian Greg Scarnici

As the country continues to celebrate, scrutinize and dissect the fashion and performances from the inaugural festivities, Aretha Franklin’s performance and her hat have become a popular subject.

While the Queen of Soul’s hat is in high demand with designer Luke Song receiving so many orders for the gigantic bow-tied, Swarovski-crystal encrusted adornment, that he’s run out of fabric, her performance of “My Country Tis’ of Thee” has been parodied by comedian Greg Scarnici.

Scarnici is known for his music video parodies and gives a hilarious rendition of Franklin’s powerful but less than stellar inaugural performance.

President Obama Admits He’s ‘Not Like Justin Timberlake’ But He’s Tried Beyonce’s ‘Single Ladies’ Dance

President Obama mingled with hip hop stars Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige and Beyonce at the Lincoln Memorial in D.C. after the “We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration” concert and John Legend caught the hip Prez on his camcorder admitting to Beyonce that he had attempted some of the dance moves from her heavily parodied video of the song “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It).”

“I’m not like Justin [Timberlake]” President Obama says, referring to the Saturday Night Live spoof. “I didn’t put on the outfit. …[But] I didn’t want my girls thinking that I couldn’t, you know…I got a lil something.”

Blindie loves the vogueing hand movements the President does at the end of the video, but maybe AlphaCat could teach him the rest of the moves.

Michelle Obama Chooses Designers Isabel Toledo, Jason Wu And J.Crew For The Inauguration

First Lady Michelle Obama donned a shimmering yellow wool sheath dress and matching coat by Cuban American designer Isabel Toledo to the inauguration of her husband Barack Obama.

Michelle discovered the work of 47 year-old Toledo through Ikram Goldman, a Chicago-based boutique shop that carries her other favored designers -Thakoon and Narciso Rodriguez.

Toledo says Michelle chose the lemongrass-colored dress for the optimism it represents.

Topping off her outfit, Michelle sported a pair of green leather gloves from J.Crew and green Jimmy Choo kitten heel pumps.

Daughters Malia and Sasha also wore pieces from J.Crew’s children’s line Crewcuts. Ten year-old Malia wore a double-breasted periwinkle-blue coat with a blue-ribbon bow at the waist and her sister Sashs,7, wore a pink coat with orange scarf and matching satin belt.

The evening’s inaugural balls saw Michelle in a white one-shoulder floor length gown by 26 year-old Taiwanese-born designer Jason Wu. A young designer who has only been showing collections since 2006, Wu found out his dress had been selected like everyone else did when the First-Lady walked out in it.

President Obama showed off his wife to a cheering crowd saying, “First of all, how good-looking is my wife?”

The First Couple danced to the song “At Last,” a 1940s song made famous by blues singer Etta James.

ObamaNation: President Barack Obama Ready to Remake America

Barack Obama was sworn in today as the 44th president of the United States.

In his inaugural address, the former Senator from Illinois acknowledged that the nation is in crisis, but said America remains the most powerful nation on Earth.

“Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking America,” he said.

TIME Declares Michelle Obama ‘America’s Next Top Model’

Someone call Tyra Banks because Michelle Obama has already been declared “America’s Next Top Model” by TIME magazine!

As we wait in anticipation of the swearing in of Barack Obama as the 44th U.S. President, we also eagerly await the apearance of his wife Michelle’s inaugural outfits. When women clamored to buy the Narciso Rodriguez dress Michelle wore on election night, it became clear a fashion trend-setter was born. And when the black and white dress from White House/ Black Market sold out the very next day after Michelle appeared in it on The View in 2008, her new status was solidified.

“With Michelle, it’s about the real thing,” says Maria Pinto, a Chicago-based designer who has been dressing the First-lady elect since 2004. “Her style is thought out, but it’s not contrived or deliberate.”

“She is someone with authority and style that people can look up to,” says Thakoon Panichgul, the designer whose red floral-print dress Michelle chose to wear on the final night of the Democratic National Convention. “It’s a new way of looking at fashion. It’s about women who are real and confident.”

So what will Michelle Obama wear for the inauguration? Speculators are saying she will most likely choose an American designer, probably a Chicago-based one -perhaps Maria Pinto, and most likely a reasonably priced dress to represent the hard economic times -maybe she’ll reprise her Tonight Show outfit and choose J.Crew?

Obama’s ‘Beast’ Of A Presidential Cadillac Is Unveiled

Barack Obama‘s new presidential Cadillac which makes its debut on inauguration day has finally been revealed. Nicknamed “The Beast,” the state-of-the-art limo has been outfitted with security enhancements that include a heavily armoured body and other features that “cannot be discussed.”

Nicholas Trotta, the Assistant Director for the Office of Protective Operations said in a statement: “Although many of the vehicle’s security enhancements cannot be discussed, it is safe to say that this car’s security and coded communications systems make it the most technologically advanced protection vehicle in the world.”

While the specifications of the car are secret, it is assumed the souped up Cadillac has been tricked out with bullet proof glass, a separate oxygen supply, and a completely sealed interior to protect against a chemical attack.

David Caldwell, a spokesman for General Motors which makes Cadillac, revealed the car has “state of the art electronics” and has been designed in the style of a contemporary Cadillac, which would include a hand-crafted interior.
