Color on the Cover: The Obamas Featured on People & Us Weekly

Not since Jennifer Aniston & Brad Pitt (then Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt) have tabloids done so well from famous couplings! Now, they’re profiting off of the historic nature of America’s next first family, putting the Obamas on their cover two weeks in a row.

Michelle told Us Weekly, “He’s an incredible husband and father. Not sure if the world knows yet, but they should!” While Obama himself adds, “I think I’m a pretty cool dad.”

ObamaNation: A Wrap-Up of Barack’s Hawaiian Getaway

While the nation’s attention is on the Olympic games in China, Barack Obama vacationed in his hometown of Hawaii, spending quality time with his family, visiting friends and of course, fundraising.

The U.S. Senator and presidential hopeful was snapped by paparazzi on Tuesday strolling on Kailua beach, hand in hand, with his two lovely daughters, Malia and Sasha, and bodysurfing Thursday at Sandy Beach. He also took time to visit the point where he scattered his mother’s ashes into the ocean, throwing a lei as a memorial.

Obama managed to sneak in some campaigning in between spending time with family and friends and shooting hoops at his alma mater, Punahou School, and raised $1.3 million at a sold-out fund-raiser on Wednesday at the Kahala Hotel and Resort.

Blindie knows this sounds a little stalkerish, but hey, not everyone gets to go to Hawaii!

ObamaNation: Barack’s Little Girls

Granting their first interview as a family, the Obamas speak to Access Hollywood’s Maria Menounos in a feature shown on the Today Show. And the exclusive interview was all about the girls.

Sasha, 7, the adorable little ham, says while on the campaign trail all her dad does is “blah blah blah blah.”

“My dad doesn’t like sweets,” Sasha says of Barack, who Michelle calls “boring” when it comes to his sweet tooth. “He likes like minty gum, he doesn’t like like bubble gum,” the littlest Obama girl adds.

Malia, 10, the more reserve daughter, even gives her dad campaign advice, explaining how she told him he shouldn’t “shake kids’ hands,” and instead “you know you just wave or say hi!”

When the campaign is done, the girls are looking forward to getting a dog!
