Lewis Hamilton Honored By Queen Of England With MBE Title
Lewis Hamilton has been named as a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) allowing him entry into the British Order of Chivalry -one of the highest honors in England, and a few steps away from Knighthood.
“It is a massive honour and incredible privilege for me to receive an MBE from Her Majesty the Queen,” Hamilton said in a statement.
The 23 year-old race car driver became the youngest Formula One champion last month when he clinched the Brazil Grand Prix in the final nail-biting moments and has also been named runner-up Sports Personality of the Year.
“I am very fortunate to have been awarded for achieving my dream, it has required a lot of hard work and dedication, however it has been worth every single minute and I only hope that I can inspire young kids to do the same, whatever their dream may be.”
Hamilton received a personal note from the Queen congratulating him on the prestigious honor.
