Beyonce Cast As Legendary Singer-Actress Eartha Kitt

Beyonce Knowles has been cast as the legendary singer Eartha Kitt in a biopic of the entertainer’s life, according to ABC News.

Even though the 79-year-old singer once suggested Academy Award winner Halle Berry portray her on screen saying, “I do not think I have quite the derriere of Beyonce. Give me Halle Berry instead,” in the SFGate.com, she did express approval that the former Destiny Child had taken an interest in starring in her life story.

Kitt is best known for her role as Catwoman in the Batman television series during the 1960s, a distinctive throaty singing voice and her signature purr. She has chronicled her rise from meager beginings in North Carolina to stardom on the stage and screen in her autobiograpies Thursday’s Child (1956), Alone With Me (1976), and I’m Still Here: Confessions of a Sex Kitten (1989).

Knowles, who is already creating Oscar buzz for her portrayal of famed singer Etta James in the upcoming film Cadillac Records, will also star in the thriller Obsessed alongside Idris Elba and Ali Larter next year.

ObamaNation: A Large Portion of Blacks Are Voting Early

African-Americans are turning out in disproportionate numbers to vote early, according to the Wall Street Journal.

In Georgia alone, black voters have made up nearly 36% of about 758,000 early voters. By comparison, African-Americans represented 25% of the overall turnout in 2004.

“We gonna have two little black girls in the White House running up and down the hallways to find their dog,” Obama supporter and early voter Lorene Smith told the paper, alluding to Malia and Sasha’s hope of getting a dog when they move to the White House.

Terrence Howard Speaks Out on Being Replaced By Don Cheadle in Iron Man Sequel

Actor Terrence Howard says he was surprised to learn that Don Cheadle would replace him as James Rhodes in Iron Man 2, the Oscar nominated actor told National Public Radio on Tuesday.

“There was no explanation, (the contract) just up and vanished,” Howard, who said he read news reports that money was the issue, revealed.

He adds that the contracts he signs apparently “aren’t worth the paper that they’re printed on sometimes.”

While Blindie loves us some Cheadle–who won an Oscar with Howard in 2004’s Crash–we’re sad that Hollywood thinks black actors are so easily replaceable.

Real Housewives Of Atlanta: Pageants, Paternity Tests And Psychics

The drama continues on The Real Housewives of Atlanta! With Kim Zolciak trying to be a country music star, DeShawn Snow trying to raise a million dollars in one night, and Nene Leakes looking for her real father, it was quite an eventful evening.

And here are Blindie’s the top ten most unbelievable moments:

  1. Kim wants to be a country singer, because people are always saying she looks like Faith HIll and Carrie Underwood. Yeah that’s a good reason. Too bad Nene “never even heard this girl hum.” And did we hear Kim say she’s 29 years old?!
  2. Kim drags Lisa Wu Hartwell, Sheree Whitfield, DeShawn and Nene to see her psychic friend Rose. The psychic surprises doubting Nene with a “dead-on” reading about her absentee father and warns she will receive a letter from a family member.
  3. Nene does indeed receive a letter from a family member that questions the paternity of the man whom she thought was her father!
  4. DeShawn thinks that giving money to the church, or tithing, is giving money to God and not to the pastor. Newsflash DeShawn, God don’t drive Cadillacs, pastors do!
  5. Sheree’s gay hairstylist Lawrence, who says “women like Sheree, when they look that good…always know there’s a gay man somwehere in their life,” takes Sheree to the Mr. and Ms. Black America pageant -basically a gay ball minus the vogueing.
  6. DeShawn is planning a fundraiser for her non-profit organization and unrealistically planning to raise one million dollars in one night by auctioning off lunch dates with her friends and selling diamonds. If DeShawn can raise that much money in one night, then someone needs to get this woman to Wall Street, because they need her, now!
  7. Nene suggests putting Sheree up for auction and starting the bid at two dollars!
  8. Nene helps Kim pick a song from the selections that Ed, her daughter’s music teacher, has penned. And even though Nene thinks all the songs suck she suggests “Don’t Be Tardy For The Party” because it will be something people can dance to in the club.
  9. After Kim drops record producer Dallas Austin’s name whenever possible, to anyone who will listen, Austin finally shows up to help her get ready to…um…record…an album? And not a single note, tune, or hum ever comes out of Kim’s mouth the entire episode.
  10. Kim confesses to Austin that her recurring dream is to have two Vietnamese children, preferably identical twin boys! That sounds like a fetish not a recurring dream!
