Gossip Girl Hookup Alert: Ed Westwick & Jessica Szohr Spotted Kissing At Airport

'Nessa may have finally nabbed her Nate (Chace Crawford) on screen, but is hooking up with resident bad boy Chuck Nasty off! In off-the-camera Gossip Girl news, costars Ed Westwick (aka Chuck Bass) and ethnic hottie Jessica Szohr (aka Vanessa Abrams) were seen making out at the Dallas airport before boarding a flight to New York Sunday night, according to the New York Post's Page Six. "They were trying to be discreet by stealing kisses near the gate," a source told the gossip column. "They were kissing in the aisles, but once they sat, she read her script and he drank a Heineken."

Gossip Girl Watch: Stolen Boyfriends And Snowflake Balls

What better way to fill our post-Thanksgiving, pre-Christmas days than with a little Gossip Girl drama. The Jenny Humphrey, Nate Archibald, Vanessa Abrams love triangle finally comes to a head -again. Chuck Bass and Blair Waldorf are still trying to resist each other's poisoned charms. Lily Bass and Rufus Humphrey are regretting the missed opportunity to hook up -again, and Serena van der Woodsen and Dan Humphrey are still pretending they don't have feelings for each other. Here are Blindie's top ten WTF moments from Gossip Girl's "It's a Wonderful Lie" episode:

  1. Vanessa locks lips with Nate right after listening to Jenny wistfully wonder what became of her almost fling with him. Vanessa is busted when a photo of the PDA ends up on the Gossip Girl blog.
  2. Aaron Rose's ex-girlfriend Lexi disses his photo exhibit featuring Serena, comparing it to a GAP ad. Hey! We like GAP ads. Lexi's pretention reaches an all time high when she orders a cup of Kopi Luwak coffee, you know, that coffee that's passed through the digestive system of the Asian Palm Civet -basically coffee beans that are shat out by cats!
  3. Chuck and Blair choose each other's dates for the Snowflake Ball to prove they know each other's desires and what does Chuck want as a reward? Blair's most prized possession -her maid Dorota!
  4. Vanessa confesses to Nate that she stole his love letter to Jenny and that she never felt like this way about anyone before, blah blah. While we love the ethnically ambiguous Jessica Szohr as Vanessa we are not liking her man-grubbing storyline.
  5. Jenni conspires with Blair's back up girls to pull a Carrie on Vanessa and humiliate her at the Snowflake Ball with a see-through dress. Really? This is the Upper East Side where maids are traded in bets. You gotta come harder than a see-through dress.
  6. Nate had the nerve to tell off Jenni for sabotaging Vanessa claiming he's glad they didn't hook up because she's not the Jenny he thought he knew. Hmm, we wonder if Jenny knew that Nate was once pimping himself out to a married woman?
  7. It's Bizarro world again on Gossip Girl as Chuck and Blair dig up cheap knock-offs of themselves for each other to date. When they catch their doubles hooking up Blair laments "even our doppelgangers can work it out!"
  8. Serena and Dan spend the entire night at the Snowflake Ball pretending not to care the other will bed their date after the party.
  9. Lily and Rufus find themselves face to face once again, and regretting another missed opportunity to be together, again.
  10. Bart Bass in an accident?! After seeing snippets of the next episode it's clear there's a funeral scene so it's safe to assume that Bart is dead and the Bass empire will now be under the rule of Chuck. Looks like Lily won't be needing that divorce anymore.

Gossip Girl Watch: Spying On An Upper East Side Thanksgiving

Nothing says Thanksgiving like secrets and lies right? No? Well then, you must not live on Gossip Girl's Upper East Side where family dysfunction means extortion, kidnapping, and surveillance. Here are Blindie's top ten moments on Gossip Girl's "Magnificent Archibalds" episode:

  1. Bart and Lily Bass discover Jenny Humphrey has been crashing at their house when they return from their vacation on Necker Island. You know, that tiny island in the British Virgin Islands owned by Virgin billionaire Sir Richard Branson.
  2. Blair Waldorf calls Aaron Rose a young Big Love Bill Paxton because of his open relationship with Serena van der Woodsen.
  3. Dan Humphrey runs into Aaron at the grocery store - awkward! The two indie dudes compare notes about Serena and Dan spills the beans about her bad girl past.
  4. Eric van der Woodsen cracks into his stepfather Bart's safe, with the help of Chuck Bass of course, and finds gold bars (what else?) and surveillance files on himself, Serena and his mother Lily. After reading his mother's file he discovers she was institutionalized as a teenager just like him.
  5. We just love all the love being shown to the hired help! Lily asks Eric, "how did you get so wise?" he replies, "the nanny," Chuck credits his hot au pair Gina for changing his life, and the kicker is when Blair makes her maid Dorota follow her around the city in full housekeeping uniform!
  6. Vanessa Abrams and Chuck team up to warn Nate Archibald about the FBI and his dad's plan to kidnap him and extort money from his rich grandparents, the Vanderbilts. Wait, Nate's grandparents are the Vanderbilts? Anderson Cooper's Vanderbilt's? And Nate's dad is going to kidnap him to extort money out of them? Geez, high school is rough on the Upper East Side!
  7. Eric finds out his mother was in an institution at just about the same age he was put away.
  8. And after all that drama, Nate asks Vanessa "can we get together sometime to Vanessa?" This guy sure does pull a lot of girls for a broke son of a criminal!
  9. Lily ends up at the Humphrey house for Thanksgiving dinner for a second year in a row! Geez, how many seasons do we have to wait before Rufus and Lily get married?!
  10. Vanessa stoops to Bass level and reads Jenny's love letter from Nate. Ah, Brooklyn girl gone bad!

Gossip Girl Watch: Jenny Humphrey’s Big Fashion Show

Everyone is up to their old tricks on Gossip Girl with Jenny Humphrey still clawing her way up the ladder of fame and fortune, Blair Waldorf scheming to get into Yale, Serena van der Woodsen chasing after the indie artsy guy, and Chuck Bass giving killer James Bondish dialogue. Here are Blindie's highlights from Gossip Girl's "There Might Be Blood" episode:

  1. After Blair bombs in yet another Yale interview with a prominent donor, Serena suggests she tries kissing up by babysitting the woman's teen daughter Emma.
  2. Emma turns out to be a wild child who declares, "I've got a credit card, fake ID, and I want Bacardi and a boy...this body is open for business." Blair runs around the city trying to stop the young girl from finding a "de-virginator" and finds the perfect blackmail opportunity that will help her get into Yale when she spots Emma's mother making out with another man at the 1Oak club.
  3. Artsy Aaron is proving to be a manipulative player who is planning to add Serena to his harem of women as he woos her with cute voicemail messages and a licorice ring. Too bad he keeps claiming his multiple female friends, who kiss him on the lips and answer his phone while he is in the bathroom, are "just friends".
  4. Jenny crashes the Philanthropic Society's gala and with a guerilla fashion show and everyone is there to see it even Vanessa who catches Jenny and Nate kissing yet again!
  5. A cameo by nightclub king former Ashley Olsen and Jamie-Lynn Sigler boyfriend Scott Sartiano, who owns the 1Oak club.
  6. Nate kisses Jenny AGAIN! But this time somone snaps a photo and it winds up on the Gossip Girl blog where Dan sees it!
  7. Dan Humphrey almost beats up Nate for kissing his sister. "You're the guy who traded sex for money!" Dan yells at Nate and then kicks him out of the Humphrey house.
  8. Blair shows her softer side as she advises Emma to save her virginity for someone she loves and has a change of heart about using blackmail to get into Yale even though she refuses to settle for Princeton because it's a "trade school."
  9. Just as the usually ego-centrical Blair and Chuck learn to be self-less and help someone else besides themselves, do-gooder Dan learns how to get ahead at the expense of others and mails off his story about Chuck's painful family life.
  10. Jenny packs up and moves out! We're guessing she won't be homeless for long, since her fashion stunt was splashed all over the morning papers.

Gossip Girl Author Wishes ‘Vanessa Was Like She Is In The Books’

The original Gossip Girl, author Cecily von Ziegesar, thinks the CW's interpretation of her teen books are "great," but has one criticism: the character of Vanessa played by the wonderful Jessica Szohr. "I think Vanessa is one character they ruined," von Ziegesar tells MTV.com. "In the book, she's kick-ass and has a shaved head and wears lots of black ... and I think a lot of the readers who don't usually read teen fiction indentify with Vanessa. Even though I don't like Vanessa's character, it's nothing against [actress] Jessica [Szohr]. I just wish Vanessa was like she is in the books a bit more." While von Ziegesar disapproves of Szohr's casting, she's in love with the other bevy of beauties: "Leighton Meester is totally perfect for Blair, and Blake [Lively] is perfect for Serena. I was more worried they would insert Barbie-doll-looking people, which they didn't. I think the actors do a brilliant job." But Blindie does agree with the author on one thing: the yummy Ed Westwick. "Chuck is my favorite character," she says, "and the way he looks and acts is in keeping with how he is in the beginning of the series."

Ethnicity Revealed: Jessica Szhor, Vanessa Hudgens And Many Others

What's their ethnicity? It's the question on everyone's mind and Blindie has done a little racial profiling to satisfy your inquiring minds. Here is the racial scoop on the most ambiguous ethnic people in Hollywood: Jessica Szohr: Gossip Girl's not-so-rich gal pal had us all guessing when she kept offering up ethnic delights from pierogies to souvlaki on the show. The real deal is that Szohr boasts a mix of African American, Caucasian, and Hungarian. Vanessa Hudgens: The High School Musical triple threat touts a mother of Filipino descent and a father of Irish and Native American heritage. Nicole Scherzinger: The Pussycat Doll was born in Hawaii to a Filipino father and a Hawaiian/Russian mother. Fred Armisen: Saturday Night Live's funnyman may play African American presidential candidate Barack Obama in skits but he actually lays claim to German, Japanese and Venezualan heritage. Gabrielle Reece: The statuesque volleyball beauty owes her beach affinity to her island roots. She was born to a Trinidadian father and a white mother on the island of Trinidad and raised in the Virgin Islands. Cassie: The model turned Bad Boy recording artist has a Filipino father and a mother of West Indian, African American and Mexican descent.

Gossip Girl‘s Jessica Szohr: TV’s Latest Phenom of the Ambiguous Ethnic Girl

Gossip Girl's Jessica Szohr isn't the first token TV character. Take a look back: Lisa Turtle (Lark Voorhies) on Saved By the Bell. Rhonda Blair (Vanessa A. Williams) on Melrose Place. And Cleveland Brown on The Family Guy. But the latest phenomenon is the beautiful, ambiguously-ethnic character. Take Szohr as Vanessa Abrams on the CW's hugely popular teen soap. She came onto the lily-white set of Gossip Girl as the boho-esque, Williamsburg hipster waitress who had gifts from Eastern Europe in tow on her first episode. Although Szohr's character was a sharp contrast to the non-speaking, harajuku-costumed black (played by Nicole Fiscella) and Asian (played by Nan Zhang) background characters on the show, it was quite confusing to peg Szohr's ethnicity. Her hair was curly (she could be Puerto Rican/Dominican?), but her eyes were blue/green and her skin was basically the same color as her castmates. She is reportedly Hungarian and African-American. Another primetime example is Rashida Jones as Karen Filippelli on The Office. Calling Karen "exotic," Steve Carell's charmingly clueless character puts everyone's (even our own) curiosity to rest, asking Karen, "Is your father a G.I.?" As most may know, Rashida is Quincy Jones' daughter with Mod Squad star Peggy Lipton. Her sister is Kidada Jones. But, while on past shows, except for Lisa on Saved by the Bell (who was famously fawned over by the un-dateable Screech, and dated Zac Morris for an episode), these characters are far cries from the sassy black girlfriend who tells it like it is roles we've been bamboozled by. They are actually part of major romantic story lines. On The Office, Jones' character was involved in the fabled love triangle between John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer. While Szohr's character shook things up between Blake Lively and Penn Badgley. She also went on to date the prettiest character on the show, Chace Crawford (pictured above). Before joining GG, Szohr also played Barry Watson's neighbor and love interest in the cancelled ABC series, What About Brian? ''Do I want to see any more shows where someone has a sassy black friend? No, because I'm nobody's sassy black friend," Girlfriends creator Mara Brock Akil recently told Entertainment Weekly of TV's lack of diversity. "I just want to see shows in which people get to be people and that look like the world we live in.'' As our frustrations with TV's lack of color continue to flourish, enjoy this Entertainment Weekly article, "Why is TV so White?" PHOTO: Courtesy of The CW
