Last October, Blindie predicted that Heroes hottie Dania Ramirez was going places--we even went as far as calling her our latest Ga Ga girl...and it seems CoverGirl cosmetics agrees! The worldwide makeup juggernaut announced to People StyleWatch that Ramirez is their latest spokesmodel.
Former Saturday Night Live star Maya Rudolph is finally getting her first starring role in a major movie in the dramedy Away We Go (opening Friday).
Starring opposite The Office hottie John Krasinski, Rudolph (who is expecting her second kid with director Paul Thomas Anderson) plays Verona, a mom-to-be traveling across country to find the perfect place to raise her baby.
"I heard that it was written with me in mind, but I didn't know Dave and Vendela, so I couldn't ask them," she says of the film written by authors Dave Eggers and Vendela Vida and directed by Oscar winner Sam Mendes (he's married to Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet).
"It was pretty thrilling to see that these two incredible writers wrote this beautiful thing with you in mind," she added.
Slumdog Millionaire stars Dev Patel and Freida Pinto are a couple!
Days after being photographed in full-PDA mode with Pinto in Israel, Patel's mother confirms that her son, 19, is dating his 24-year-old costar to the Daily Mirror.
"Yes, we knew he was flying to Israel to see her," she said of her son visiting his girlfriend near the set of her film Miral in Jerusalem.
"Life can't get any better for him," she added. "Freida is really beautiful, and I am really happy for them."
The father of Slumdog Millionaire child star Rubina Ali (who played a young Latika in the Oscar-winning film) reportedly tried selling his 9-year-old daughter for roughly $300,000, but he's denying such reports to People.com.
Rafiq Quresh says the report is a "lie made up by foreign journalists playing games with me."
According to News of the World, Rubina's pop offered the shocking deal to an undercover fake sheik this week, explaining, "I have to consider what's best for me, my family and Rubina's future."
Blaming the filmmakers, he reportedly said, "We've got nothing out of this film," while Rubina's uncle told the newspaper, "The child is special now. This is NOT an ordinary child. This is an Oscar child!"
Star Trek beauty Zoe Saldana posed for a high-flying circus spread in the April issue of In Style (coincidentally their "color issue" ha!), where she discussed how growing up in New York and the Dominican Republic influenced her style.
"I learned to embrace color, drama and flair," the actress, who plays Lieutenant Uhura in J. J. Abrams's much-anticipated prequel, said. "It's my nostalgia for a very important time in my life."
Saldana also revealed her dancing roots (she got her start as a broke Off-Broadway dancer; and remember Center Stage?): "I got so much out of being a dancer. The stillness of it. The discipline. The dedication."
"Clothes can send a powerful message," Saldana added. "You don't have to be on a movie set to tell a story. You can play a part on the red carpet or at a photo shoot."
After nabbing a SAG award nomination for her supporting role in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Taraji P. Henson revealed her secret to falling in love with an reverse-aging robotic doll.
"I knew that the moment Queenie saw Benjamin, she had to fall in love with him right away, because if she didn't, the audience wouldn't," Henson, 38, tells Entertainment Weekly.
"So I stared at that little ugly animatronic baby," she added of her role as Brad Pitt's adopted mother. "I stared at it so much that after a while I thought it was cute!"
EW says the actress, best-known for her role in 2005's Hustle & Flow, is a huge contender and on the "short list" for a supporting actress Oscar award.
Ethnic actresses rarely get love when it comes to their fashion choices (unless they're Rihanna or Beyonce), but in the January issue of In Style, the editors praise Kerry Washington's stylish ways.
The magazine credits, "Her love of exuberant color, lively prints and sleek lines keeps the gorgeous actress front and center, day and night. Oh, and then there's that smile," for nabbing their monthly honor!
One of Blindie's favorite actresses Maggie Gyllenhaal looked radiant during Fashion Week in Los Angeles--and it wasn't because of her new hair cut. The acclaimed actress hosted SoyJoy's Fashionably Natural, a groundbreaking runway show that showcased designers who work exclusively with all-natural fabrics.
The socially-conscious icon, who follows in the footsteps of other eco-fashion figures (Stella McCartney, Natalie Portman), told Entertainment Tonight that before teaming up with SoyJoy on the show, "I sort of thought of eco-friendly clothing as misshapen hemp sweaters from 1992."
But Gyllenhaal insists that just because you wear all-natural fabrics, "You still have to vote and you still have to be a responsible citizen!"
