mia After playfully lashing out at the press on her Myspace page for calling her baby Ickitt, TMZ reveals singer M.I.A. actual named her son Ikhyd. The Sri Lankan singer whose real name is Mathangi Maya Arulpragasam gave birth last month and quickly tried to squash rumours that her bouncing boy was named Ickitt, telling the press to pick on other celebrity babies' odd names. But it turns out she and fiance Benjamin Brewer chose the phoenetically similar name Ikyhd. The baby's full name is Ikyd Edgar Arular Bronfman, with the middle names taken from both parents' fathers.

But the pregnant star may not attend the Grammy Awards this Sunday because her baby is due on that day. "They say that you're often late the first time, so I'm planning to go," the 31-year-old mom-to-be told USA Today. "We'll see. People are trying to get me to relax and focus on the baby. It's like being in parallel universes." M.I.A., who is also up for an Oscar for the song "O ... "Paper Planes" singer M.I.A. is getting ready for her first child with fiancé Benjamin Brewer and joked with USA Today that if she gets any bigger she's sporting a caftan! The 31-year-old musician (born Mathangi Arulpragasam) isn't letting her super-pregs status stop her, having recorded three tracks on the ga ga worthy Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack and finishing up a new album for next year! "I think my baby is going to start off making club music. That's all I've been listening to. Of course, you never know," she tells the newspaper. "We actually don't want our kid to do music, so we're going to buy it loads of instruments … so that it will completely rebel and go the other way." Of how her pregnancy has affected her music, M.I.A. says, "When I sing, I have to be aware that someone can hear me inside. It's really strange. I definitely feel less angry."
