First LOOK: Fashion Designers Call Michelle Obama ‘Our Shining Hope’ in New Style Book

First Lady Michelle Obama has caused an uproar with her fashion sense--even her choice of sleeveless dresses ruled headlines last week. And now the first lady's trademark, contemporary, all-American style is being spun into a book--like a love letter to the style maven from the fashionistas who have (and hope!) to dress her. "Our shining hope for the future!" says designer Isaac Mizrahi in the Michelle Obama style guide (due out May 5). But Glamour has a few pages from Michelle Style: Celebrating the First Lady of Fashion, which features sketches, interviews and style tips from fashion heavy-hitters like Carolina Herrera, Catherine Malandrino, Tommy Hilfiger, Behnaz Sarafpour, Isabel Toledo, and Jason Wu. "Michelle Obama is a true independent," explains Nicole Miller. "She isn't locked into wearing couture or super expensive clothes.

Hookup Alert: Model Elle MacPhereson & Saville Row Designer Ozwald Boateng

The peacock of Saville Row, designer Ozwald Boateng, walked into the Grey Goose party in the SoHo Lounge in L.A with supermodel Elle "The Body" MacPherson on his arm. The London-based tailor celebrated his birthday in the private room last Friday, according to Fox News, with his new girl, NBC's Ben Silverman, Mariah Carey (and her hubby Nick Cannon) and Lawrence Fishburn. Blindie's surprised by the reported hookup between MacPherson (who was previously married to photog Gilles Bensimon and has two kids with French financier Arpad Busson) and Boateng because he has long been photographed with wife Guynel (with whom he has two kids) at his side!

rosario-dawson-nytimes-sunday-magazine Actress Rosario Dawson takes over the women's fashion spring 2009 issue of the New York Times Style magazine--and she looks delectable! The Seven Pounds star and New York native (she was discovered on a stoop in Manhattan's Lower East Side neighborhood) also opens up in the magazine's revealing "Screen Test" series, where she reflects on The Rocky Horror Picture Show (which left the biggest impression on her), nudity on film and her mother unorthodox way of disciplining her (she licked her face)!

Ga Ga: G-Star Raw’s Runway Show With Benicio Del Toro And Wendell Lissimore

Blindie was front and center at G-Star Raw's Fall/Winter 2009 runway show on Tuesday at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom along with Star Trek's Zoe Saldana, 90210's Shenae Grimes, and Make Me A Supermodel's Tyson Beckford. We were pleasantly surprised to see Ga Ga-worthy model Wendell Lissimore walk the runway and cheered with everyone when G-star's new "Icon" Benicio Del Toro came out to read Joy Division's "Candidate" before the finale. The show began with black and white formal attire reminiscent of the 1930s and 40s--we even spied a women's variation of a bowler hat. The bygone era then seamlessly gave way to G-Star's quintessential military stylings--early aviator and sailor inspired ensembles adorned with dramatic collars, and straps and buckles that would make Edward Scissorhands proud. Two live pianists played a dramatic classical score throughout that evoked the beauty and gravity of both the silent film era and the future. Blindie is ga ga for G-Star Raw and we are making it our new religion!
