Blindie’s fave model Chanel Iman cozied up to Kanye West during the MEN.STYLE.COM Women of Fashion event in New York on Wednesday and even shared some fries with the ego-tastic singer.
The 3rd annual fashion bash held at the New York Palace Hotel’s Palace Gate celebrated 25 of the fashion industry’s most glamorous ladies, including Rachel Roy, Chloë Sevigny and Berrin Noorata, selected by a panel of equally stylish men: André Benjamin, Paul Sevigny and Sean Avery.
In an effort to celebrate American icons of the last seven decades, Glamour magazine has recruited “some very-2009 young talents” to reenact their greatest achievements.
From Alicia Keys channeling Michelle Obama (yes! Tyra Banks did it first) to Paula Patton paying homage to blues legend Billie Holiday, these American women represent the we can do anything.
“She has worked hard for everything she’s accomplished, and done so with grace and humility,” Keys says of our new first lady. “So many women and girls can identify with her story.”

MTV is reviving its popular 1990s show House of Style and is reportedly reaching out to Blindie’s fave up-and-coming model Chanel Iman to host.
According to the New York Post, the music network is also reaching out to Leonardo DiCaprio’s on-and-off-again girlfriend Bar Refaeli to possibly host as well.
The show, which made such models as Cindy Crawford and Rebecca Romijn accessible to Gen X, went off the air in 2000.
Ga Ga worthy stompers Chanel Iman and Jourdan Dunn are featured in a 16-page fashion editorial for the January issue of American Vogue.
The pretty little things don matching samurai-inspired braids and shine in every designer from Rodarte and Balenciaga to Nina Ricci and Prada.
“Who better than Chanel Iman and Jourdan Dunn, two models poised for even greater heights in the new year, to adopt the season’s understated attitude,” the magazine writes.
Blindie loves that two of our favorite models are gaining momentum.
Style.com released their annual fashion list, “2008: The Year in Style,” where they counted down the 20 reasons to celebrate fashion.
At No. 1 was our incoming First Lady Michelle Obama “because symbols mean something,” especially in risk-taking attire.
“We chose to see Mrs. O’s fashion risk-taking as a small but potent sign that the next four (eight?) years won’t be politics—or pantsuits—as usual,” the site writes. “And if nothing else, Obama—who sparked a run on yellow J.Crew pencil skirts and cardigans after an appearance on The Tonight Show—could be a one-woman bailout package for one of the nation’s key consumer sectors.”
At No. 5 is “runways and magazines finally got (a little) more diverse,” with the rising of newly minted It girls Jourdan Dunn and Chanel Iman, and their appearances in Vogue Italia‘s “A Black Issue” in July.
