Marc Jacobs may have already won us over with his handbags, but he definitely stole our hearts with his Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2010 runway show featuring a bounty of big bushy Erykah Badu-ish afros.
Sure the afros were obvious wigs and not authentic picked out, sheened up creations but at least they weren’t insanely straight doll hair weaves that women, both black and white, are glueing into their hair to achieve unrealistic lengths and textures.
We are just ga ga over Jacobs fros and the show’s live webcast on Facebook!

The peacock of Saville Row, designer Ozwald Boateng, walked into the Grey Goose party in the SoHo Lounge in L.A with supermodel Elle “The Body” MacPherson on his arm.
The London-based tailor celebrated his birthday in the private room last Friday, according to Fox News, with his new girl, NBC’s Ben Silverman, Mariah Carey (and her hubby Nick Cannon) and Lawrence Fishburn.
Blindie’s surprised by the reported hookup between MacPherson (who was previously married to photog Gilles Bensimon and has two kids with French financier Arpad Busson) and Boateng because he has long been photographed with wife Guynel (with whom he has two kids) at his side!
The 42-year-old designer, who once was at the helm of Perry Ellis and Paco Rabanne, says, “Don’t wait for a special occasion to show off your inner and outer style. Reveal your individuality every day in your wardrobe but also in what makes you happy and what you believe in.”
In addition to advising women to stand out, Robinson suggests investing in statement jewelry, a well-fitting pair of jeans and knowing how to buy a suit for your man.
“Men see the big picture, but women take time to see the details when shopping,” asserts Robinson. “Train a man to zero in on the points that matter—or just buy it for him. He’s bound to look better.”
Savile Row designer Ozwald Boateng is pitching in to help the national campaign, The Reach, to find role models for the U.K.’s black youth, according to the Press Association.
Communities Secretary Hazel Blears said the drive was “crucial.” At least 20 black role models, who will tour schools and delinquent institutions, will be chosen by a panel, which includes Boateng and others.
“It is crucial that we improve the life chances of young black boys,” she said. “Too few black men and boys are achieving their full potential…There needs to be a collective effort to combat underachievement and low aspirations amongst our young black men.
