Real Housewives Of Atlanta Update: Singer Usher Raymond’s Wife Tameka Asked To Join And Nene Leakes Set To Spinoff

With "too human" DeShawn Snow being shown the exit on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Bravo has approached R&B singer Usher Raymond's wife Tameka Foster to join the lineup of lunching ladies. Tameka confirmed to Essence.com that she was asked to join the show but also says, "Although [Bravo] approached me, and I was flattered by the offer, I will not be joining the Real Housewives cast." Too bad! It would've been fun to see Tameka show up Kim Zolciak with higher wattage music industry friends, and compete against Lisa Wu Hartwell for the multi-tasking mother award as she juggled her clothing line and five children (two of which are Usher's). Tameka even has a foundation similar to DeShawn's that helps build self-esteem in young girls, so maybe diamond galas would've been on the menu also. Nene Leakes, however, is set to return for season two and already working on a spinoff with Bravo that's slated to air in 2010. Fingers and toes crossed Nene's "gay boyfriend" Dwight Eubanks joins her on the new show!

Gossip Girl Spinoff To Focus On Teen Years Of Lily And Rufus And Their Love Affair

Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage announce plans for a spinoff of the popular novel-based series that will be a prequel focusing on Rufus Humphrey and Lily van der Woodsen's wild teenage years. The spinoff set in California is an original idea by Shwartz and Savage that will tell the story of Rufus and Lily's love affair and the resulting pregnancy. After falling out with her parents Lily Rhodes (maiden name) leaves behind the luxury of her wealthy parents and moves in with her sister, a black sheep of the family, and experiences the fast times of Los Angeles in the 1980s. "We are inspired by the opportunity to tell overlapping stories and introduce characters that will appear in the past and the present -- and hopefully enrich both shows," Schwartz said. "We love exploring fashion, pop culture, music and a heightened world that's just a little more fun than the one we actually live in. L.A. in the '80s totally fits the bill." The CW has ordered a "backdoor pilot" of the new show with plans to air it as a Gossip Girl episode on May 11. Blindie is already ga ga for what we're sure will be an awesome 80s soundtrack and a rad wardrobe!

Bravo Drops DeShawn Snow From Real Housewives Of Atlanta For Being ‘Too Human’

Bravo has dropped the "destined for greatness" Deshawn Snow from the cast of The Real Housewives of Atlanta for reportedly being too low-key. Snow tells Essence.com that one of the reasons cited for her removal from the second season of the network's most popular installment of the Housewives franchise was because she was “too human for a circus show.” "At the end of the day, I was the same person throughout the show,” says Snow. “I'm not the type to go "television" and start acting crazy...I was authentic and true to myself and I can’t control what other people do.” Maintaining her ladylike composure, Snow says “They let me go and there are no hard feelings. I am thankful for the opportunity.” So far the rest of the "circus" players are expected to return - Kim Zolciak, NeNe Leakes, Sheree Whitfield, Lisa Wu Hartwell, and fingers crossed Dwight Eubanks! A Bravo rep tells PEOPLE “Bravo is bringing Atlanta back for season two but we haven’t confirmed the cast at this time.” In addition to maintaining the DeShawn Snow Foundation and a monthly column for Streamingfaith.com, Snow is working on a faith based pre-teens and teenagers book series.

Show Creator Matthew Weiner Doesn’t Know if Mad Men‘s ‘Happening’ Next Season with AMC

The fate of Mad Men has been allegedly sealed by AMC, but creator Matthew Weiner says he's uncertain about the show's future, which he calls "unknowable." "I don't know anything about next season — I don't even know if it's happening," Weiner told E! News at the Emmys. "I don't even know what to tell you. I don't know what to say … I've done everything I can. That's all I can tell you." While Weiner has yet to sign on the dotted line, the show will be coming back with the actors. But they're not all happy-go-lucky about going at it alone without Weiner. Christina Hendricks, who plays sexy office manager Joan Holloway, said, "There is no show without Matthew."

Gossip Girl Watch: Uncle Jack Serves Up Betrayal With Cocktails and Coquettes

Backstabbing? Check! Underage drinking? Check! Drugs and hookers? Check, and check! All of the regular Gossip Girl plot points are present. So why did the last scene fizzle into a Brady Bunch moment? We're starting to suspect the Gossip Girl writers must live in Brooklyn because all of the betrayal seems to happen on Manhattan's Upper East Side but warm and fuzzy moments are always going down at the Humphrey's Brooklyn loft. WTF? We love the Serena and Dan thing and even the Rufus and Lily affair, but only if it's going to cause drama! Here are Blindie's top ten moments from Gossip Girl's "Gone with the Will" episode:

  1. Chuck Bass' (Ed Westwick) father leaves him the majority share of Bass Industries, and Chuck is upset! Huh? What?
  2. Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen) is totally playing the third wheel hag role and blocking Eric van der Woodsen (Connor Paolo) from getting some alone time with his boyfriend Jonathon. Get your own guy Jenny!
  3. I can't believe Dan Humphrey told Vanessa about his father's love child in a candy store! Well, at least it was Dylan's candy store. And of course it gets leaked to Gossip Girl -on purpose! Silly Dan, doesn't he know the walls have ears on the Upper East Side.
  4. We love how the little Upper East Side girls call Dan a "Brooklyn pig" and accuse Vanessa Abrams (Jessica Szohr) of "failing upwards" because she couldn't make it work with Dan and she's now dating Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford).
  5. We love that Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) has a sign reserving the eclairs for Chuck at his celebratory brunch!
  6. OMFG!! Are we sure these kids are in high school?!! Chuck is caught by Bass Industry board members sitting behind a desk covered in drugs and two lingerie-clad women perched at his side! And all thanks to the ultimate backstabber Uncle Jack.
  7. And amidst all of the drama, Lily and Rufus are lounging in bed basking in their afterglow and reminiscing about old rocker days.
  8. Too bad Chuck chose "cocktails and coquettes" over "business and Blair" because this time Blair is not sticking by his side!
  9. So Lily and Rufus' son is not dead? Damn! Everyone's a liar on this show! Even the adopted parents. EW's Ausiello was right!
  10. The Chuck and Jack feud is ON! And our money is on Chuck for the win.
