Friday Night Lights‘ Taylor Kitsch & Gaius Charles Featured in New York Times Magazine

gaius-charles-nytimes-magazinetaylor-kitsch-nytimes-photo It seems the New York Times is crushing on Friday Night Lights stars Taylor Kitsch and Gaius Charles---whom Blindie has been ogling since season one of TV's greatest drama (next to Mad Men)! In a TMen's cover story called "Tomorrow's Big-Screen Stars Are on TV", Kitsch and Charles are among the actors highlighted in the dapper photo spread. Charles, who plays Smash Williams on the small town football drama, says his role model is Christopher Plummer from The Sound of Music and he can next be seen alongside Woody Harrelson in the soldier drama The Messenger. On the other hand, Kitsch (better known as bad boy hottie Tim Riggins), who says his onscreen role model is Sean Penn in Dead Man Walking, can next be seen as Cajun mutant in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, with Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds. Talk about a yummy-fest!

Ga Ga: NYLON Mag Declares Rudy Huxtable Their Style Icon!

Surfing the web, Blindie found that Rudy Huxtable of The Cosby Show is being declared a style icon by NYLON magazine. Yes, Keshia Knight Pulliam may have grown up (she recently played a prostitute in Tyler Perry's Madea Goes to Jail), but we're loving that not only does NYLON Mag name check Denise (Lisa Bonet) but also Rudy's little hubby BUD! "Denise may have been the 'cool' one," the mag writes, "but growing up in the '90s, we always wanted some of Rudy Huxtable's style. Her penchant for big sweaters over party dresses became a college campus inspiration for millions of American girls, and those striped leggings she wore to dance class?"

Tyra Banks Calls Herself ‘Goddess of Fierce’ in America’s Next Top Model Premiere

The 12th (yes...TWELFTH!) cycle of America's Next Top Model premiers tonight and as always, Tyra Banks doesn't just show up---she dresses up, going as far as dubbing herself "the goddess of fierce." One model, who is completely in awe of Tyra's costumed unveiling (Is Ms. Banks channeling Cleopatra? I thought Caesars Palace in Vegas was Greek mythology-themed?), screams, "Tyra! This woman is amazing...she's extraterrestrial!" Blindie must say we agree with the "extraterrestrial" comparison. Tune in to the ANTM premiere tonight at 8 on the CW!

Ga Ga: The Roots As House Band On Late Night With Jimmy Fallon

the_roots_jimmy_fallon_show Jimmy Fallon may have been nervous, and sweaty, and umm, not as funny as we remembered him from Saturday Night Live, but at least his house band The Roots were on top of their game. Not since The Arsenio Hall Show has hip-hop had such a presence in late night televison and The Roots are poised to go even further than Branford Marsalis and his horn could as Jay Leno's music man. Last night's slow jam of the news with emphasis on the "stimulus package" gave us a good taste of the band's versatility and humor. The Philly band actually welcomed the regular television gig and dismissed concerns of being "neutered" or mocked by other entertainers in the industry. Drumer ?uestlove, who backed up Dave Chappelle on a few of his television episodes, tells Newsweek magazine that the Fallon show"...enabled us to survive. This would basically match or surpass what we would make touring 200-plus days out of the year" and "this allows us to be home." Blindie is ga ga for The Roots as a late night house band and wants more slow jam news! PHOTO CREDIT: AP

Video Virus: Kay Pettigrew’s Cover on Fresh Prince of Bel Air Theme Song

Blindie's a big Gilmore Girls fan and through Twitter we found this on former GG star John Cabrera's tweet: singer songwriter Kay Pettigrew reworking the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme song. Not only does she take away the beat and the rapping, but she totally transforms Will Smith's original into a catchy folksy song that Yael Naim or Feist or Regina Spektor would make into a single!

Gossip Girl Watch: Chuck Has Eyes Wide Shut And Dan Is Hot For Teacher

Is Gossip Girl jumping the shark? A teacher-student romance and an "Eyes Wide Shut" storyline in one episode?! These kids aren't even in college, let alone the big bad world of finance and they're already embroiled in scandals. Here are Blindie's over-the-top ten moments moments of Gossip Girl's "Carnal Knowledge" episode:

  1. Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) gets detention! We should've known this episode was gonna be a shocker when the Queen Bee actually gets punished. Well, at least she made Dorota (Zuzanna Szadkowski) do all the work.
  2. Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) wakes up in a hotel room with a strange tattoo on his arm, and flashbacks of a night of debauchery reminiscent of Stanley Kubrick's last film "Eyes Wide Shut." All obvious questions aside, but does Chuck even go to school anymore?
  3. Does anyone else think the english teacher Rachel Carr (Laura Breckenridge) looks like Shannon Doherty (from the original 90210 years)?
  4. That awesome dialogue that keeps us coming back for more: "Is a scandal still a scandal if you can't text about it?" Hazel (Dreama Walker) complains when their cell phones are confiscated at school; "Talk about the filthy rich," Vanessa Abrams (Jessica Szohr) says when she sees Chuck in his apres-party unkemptness; "I can't believe we're here on a Saturday evening, that's a lot of cancelled retstaurant reservations," Lily van der Woodsen (Kelly Rutherford) laments when she has to attend an emergency parent meeting at the school.
  5. We love when Blair compared Dan and Ms. Carr to that infamous teacher who had an affair with her student, Mary Kay Letourneau!
  6. Blair's plan to take down the english teacher backfires and she faces expulsion for spreading a rumor about Dan Humphrey getting it on with Ms. Carr.
  7. Rumor starts to become truth when Dan meets with the english teacher at a dimly lit cafe. Really? Who does that? Like they couldn't talk at school?
  8. We love how Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) is quick to sell Dan up the river as soon as she sees him barely touching Ms. Carr for like a split second. Blair snaps a photo on her cell phone and uses it to bail Blair out of her lies so she won't have to go to Oberlin!
  9. Chuck goes on a wild goose chase for the mysterious masked woman who pleasured him the previous night and finds out his father was involved in a secret gentleman's club. We're not sure where this is going but since the woman has already turned up missing it's definitely gonna be scandalous and shocking and age-inappropriate!
  10. Dan and Serena are splitsville again! And Dan's already jumped into bed with the english teacher, or should we say the english teacher has already jumped his bones. Too bad the dean of Constance Billard was about to call and offer Ms. Carr her job back!
