Material Mom Madonna Set to Adopt Malawian Orphan Mercy James

madonna-mercy-baby-malawi Madonna reportedly will get her way, according to The Sun, which claims the Material Mom has persuaded three appeal judges to allow her to adopt Malawian orphan Mercy James. Madonna, 50, whose application for the three-year-old was rejected in March, will get her new ruling next Sunday at Malawi's Supreme Court of Appeal. "All recommendations are in favour of the adoption taking place," a source reveals. "Mercy should start packing her bags. She's off to America."

An American Family in Paris: The Obamas Become Parisian Tourists

Wrapping up his six-day trip abroad to the Middle East, Germany and the beaches of Normandy, the President joined First Lady Michelle and Malia and Sasha at the U.S. ambassador's residence in Paris, where they're staying. The First Family's tour of Paris began early Saturday evening at the Notre Dame cathedral, while on Sunday (which was Sasha's 8th birthday) they took in the city's best view atop the Pompidou Center. "I would love nothing more than to have a leisurely week in Paris, stroll down the Seine, take my wife out to a nice meal, have a picnic in Luxembourg Gardens," he said after taking his wife to dinner near the Eiffel Tower. "Those days are over, for the moment."

Ga Ga: Maya Rudolph Gets Her Starring Chance with John Krasinski in Dave Eggers Flick Away We Go

Starring opposite The Office hottie John Krasinski, Rudolph (who is expecting her second kid with director Paul Thomas Anderson) plays Verona, a mom-to-be traveling across country to find the perfect place to raise her baby. "I heard that it was written with me in mind, but I didn't know Dave and Vendela, so I couldn't ask them," she says of the film written by authors Dave Eggers and Vendela Vida and directed by Oscar winner Sam Mendes (he's married to Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet). "It was pretty thrilling to see that these two incredible writers wrote this beautiful thing with you in mind," she added.
