Wait What?: Stacey Dash Says “Get Rid” of BET and Black History Month

Stacey Dash tried desperately to dismiss the #OscarsSoWhite controversy by claiming:

“We have to make up our minds. Either we want to have segregation or integration, and if we don’t want segregation, then we have to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the Image Awards, where you’re only awarded if you’re black,” she continued. “If it were the other way around, we’d be up in arms. It’s a double standard. There shouldn’t be a black history month. We’re Americans, period.”

Dash then threw Morgan Freeman into the mix by dredging up a similar statement the actor made in 2005 on 60 Minutes.

BET then dredged up a scene from one of their past hit shows that Dash maybe regrettably appeared and captioned it: “Soooooo @realstaceyldash, can we get our check back… or nah? #Remember #YouWereOnTheGame #AndWeDontMeanTheRapper”

But then Gabrielle Union, one of BET’s biggest stars, put it all into perspective when asked about Stacey Dash’s statements while attending Sundance, saying “Who’s that? Who’s Stacey Dash?”

EXACTLY!
