Cosby Show Co-Star Joseph C. Phillips, Obama & Whoopi Weigh in On Cosby Rape Allegations

Joseph C. Phillips, who played Lisa Bonet’s character’s husband and Raven Simone’s character’s father, Lt. Martin Kendall, has spoken up to say that he “had to look with sober eyes at what was going on” and now believes the Cosby rape allegations. Of course it took an actor friend of his to pour her heart out to him and tell her own Cosby rape story for him to change his mind.

Obama commented on the Cosby rape allegations after a reporter asked if he would revoke Bill Cosby’s Medal of Freedom, saying:

“there’s no precedent for revoking the Medal of Freedom; we don’t have that mechanism… I’ll say this, if you give a woman, or a man for that matter, without his or her knowledge a drug, and then have sex with that person without consent that’s rape, and uh, I think this country, any civilized country should have no tolerance for rape.”

As for Whoopi Goldberg, who previously defended Cosby by saying that he was innocent until proven guilty, she is now changing her tune because apparently the only court that can try him is the court of public opinion.
