Obama’s Independence Day Address and Reflections on the ‘Unyielding American Spirit’

President Obama wished the country a Happy 4th of July in his weekly address and called for a remembrance of the “indominable” and “unyielding spirit” that defines us as Americans as we wage two wars -a deep recession and “festering problems we’ve kicked down the road for far too long -spiraling healthcare costs, inadequate schools and a dependence on foreign oil.”

“We are not a people who fear the future, Obama said. We are a people who make it. And on this July 4th we need to summon that spirit once more. “
