Barbara Walters named President-elect Barack Obama as 2008′s No.1 “Most Fascinating” person on her ABC special Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2008, on Thursday.
Making history as the first African American to be elected as president, Obama was probably the most expected choice.
“This was almost the easiest year that we’ve ever had, because we had so many naturals,” said Walters.
The $100 million dollar box office man Will Smith brings up the rear in the 10th position.
And sandwiched in between America’s most beloved black men are Tom Cruise in the No. 2 spot, followed by former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, actor Frank Langella, the pregnant man Thomas Beatie, conservative republican radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh, Saturday Night Live veteran and 30 Rock star Tina Fey (yes, this sort of balances out Palin’s presence on the list!), teen actress and rock star Miley Cyrus, and Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps.
