SNEAK PEEK: Zoe Saldana as Uhura in J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek

For all you Trekkies out there, Entertainment Weekly dedicates an entire cover story to filmmaker J.J. Abrams’ super-secret Star Trek film.

“We weren’t making a movie for fans of Star Trek,” Abrams told EW. “We were making a movie for fans of movies.”

The film (due out next spring) stars Chris Pine as James T. Kirk, Heroes star Zachary Quinto as Spock, Simon Pegg as Scotty, Harold & Kumar‘s John Cho as Sulu, Anton Yelchin as Chekov, Karl Urban as McCoy, and one of Blindie’s favorite actresses Zoe Saldana as Uhura.

Of her role, Saldana said, “It’s great to see an exotic face in sci-fi. Little girls who look like me, or who are Arab, Filipina, whatever, are going to go, ‘Oh, my God, we can be in space, too!’”
