With Fro in Tow, Erykah Badu Debuts Tom Ford’s New Fragrance

Multiplatinum R&B singer Erykah Badu was handpicked by designer Tom Ford to be the face of his new fragrance, White Patchouli. Her ads have debuted in the September fall fashion magazines.

“For this project, I wanted to reinvent patchouli,” Ford recently said. “I loved the idea of mixing patchouli with white florals.”

The New York Times recently said of Badu: “Thanks to Ms. Badu’s appealingly eccentric neo-soul sex goddess/funky earth mama/black power revolutionary persona, her pipe cleaner of a voice, thin and bendy, her sultry delivery and beauty, she’s still a potentially bankable star.”
