Annett Davis and Jenny Johnson Jordan were unsuccessful in breaking the winning streak of powerhouses Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor at Sunday’s AVP Crocs Slam Boulder Open.

The second-seeded team of Davis and Johnson Jordan, who teamed up in 1999 and quickly became a dynamic duo on the pro beach set, were last successful in beating Walsh and May-Treanor in 2004—right before they won the gold at the Olympics.

Davis is the daughter of former NBA player Cleveland Buckner and is married to Allen Davis, a 12-time All-American swimmer, while Johnson Jordan is the daughter of Rafer Johnson, an Olympic decathlon record holder with a gold and silver medal.
